Sun Road will be closed from June 1 to June 20.
The underpass will be closed all day because workers will be fixing the lights inside. The overpass has no steps on the west side, so a person who cannot use steps should take the east side.
Work will stop between noon and one o'clock so that the street is quiet while the school next door eats lunch. Please call 04-2211-3388 if the noise is a problem at night.
Dear Sir,
I ride Bus 12 to work every day, and I want to tell you about your driver on the 7:40 bus, Mr. Chang.
Last Tuesday an old man got on with a heavy bag and could not find his card. He had a toothache and looked pale. The bus was full and already late. Mr. Chang did not hurry him. He told the man to sit down first and pay the next day, and he asked a young passenger to give up a seat. Nobody said a word, but I saw three people smile.
I know you hear about drivers only when something goes wrong. I thought you should hear this too. Please pass my thanks to him.
Sincerely, Wang Li
A road looks like a simple thing: a flat line that takes you from one place to another. The longest one in Russia runs for thousands of kilometers, and its story is the story of a country. But every road is also a choice about who matters.
When a city makes a road wider, cars move faster, and the people who live along it cross less often. Children stop playing outside and stay in the living room. An old woman may keep herself at home for days. The road has not become worse for driving; it has become worse for living.
Some cities now work the other way. They make one road narrow again, plant a line of flowers, and let buses and bicycles use the middle. Cars still pass, only more slowly. The truth is that a street belongs to everyone who stands on it, not only to the person behind the wheel.
