Every student must join the morning meeting. The card must be made by the whole class, not by one person. Students who want to sing should write their names on the paper outside the music room before Wednesday. A CD of last year's songs is on the desk there, and the key to the room is with Mr. Lo.
There will be no lessons in the afternoon. The school bus will leave at one o'clock, and students who go home by bicycle should be careful because the road near the garage is being fixed.

Dear Miss Chen,
I am writing about the science project that we must hand in next Monday. My group chose to study how plants grow in the dark, and we have watched our plants for three weeks. However, two of our plants died last Sunday, and we do not know the reason.
May we write about why they died and not show how tall they grew? We think this may be more useful for the class. If you do not agree, we will start again with new plants, but then we will need one more week.
Please tell me before Thursday so that our group can plan our weekend.

Today a student can find almost any fact anywhere, on a phone, in a few seconds. Some people therefore guess that schools will soon close and that no one will need a teacher.
But a fact is not the same as an education. A machine can tell you the year of a war, yet it cannot see that you are afraid to speak, or notice that you have not eaten supper. A good teacher watches the person, not only the answer; that is the key to a real education, and no online course can do it alone.
Learning is also something we do together. In class we hear other students say things we never thought of, and we learn to listen even when we do not agree. That is a lesson no phone can deliver.
今天學生不論身在何處，只要幾秒鐘就能在手機上找到幾乎任何事實。因此有些人猜測學校很快就會關閉，再也沒有人需要老師。
但事實不等於教育。機器可以告訴你一場戰爭發生在哪一年，卻看不出你害怕開口，也不會注意到你沒吃晚餐。好老師看的是人，不只是答案；那才是真正教育的關鍵，任何線上課程都無法獨力做到。
學習也是我們一起做的事。在課堂上我們會聽到其他同學說出我們從沒想過的看法，也學會在不同意時仍然傾聽。那是手機無法給予的一課。
