The Problem of Food Waste

Around the world, nearly one-third of all food produced is thrown away every year. This waste happens at every stage, from farms and stores to our own kitchens. When food rots in landfills, it also produces gases that harm the environment.

The good news is that small changes can make a big difference. Planning meals before shopping helps people buy only what they need. Storing food properly keeps it fresh longer, and leftovers can be turned into new dishes. Some restaurants now donate extra food to charities instead of throwing it out. If everyone takes a few simple steps, we can save both money and the planet.
